Child Soldiers - Red Hand Day 2006   Englisch

Campaign Red Hand

The participants dye one hand with red colour and press it on a long paper web (10 metres per 100 persons). Hang up the transparent on the front of your building (school, church or organisation). Document activities and events to join the global protest against the use of children in war with text photos and drawings. Be part of it!

Red Hand Day

To mark this commemoration day and to raise global awareness of the plight of child soldiers, on 12 of February 2006 starts up for the 3 rd time in Germany the campaign “Red Hand”. With this symbol students and adults express their protest against the use of children in war. The use of children as soldiers has to be stopped immediately! They need our assistance to return to their own life.

We call all initiatives and organisations worldwide to be part of the campaign.

We call all teachers worldwide to deal with the problem of child soldiers at school and to take part in the campaign Red Hand.

Send some commented pictures of your transparents to info@redhandday.org

We will present your activities to the public on our website www.redhandday.org

How to take part

Take a small paint roller to dye all hands quickly with red finger paint.

Paper: 50-metre-roll. Ask a print shop to sponsor it or to make you a good price.

On a 50-metre-roll you can put about 600 hands.

It seems to be great fun, too!
